An approximately $6 billion market today, the BIM market is on a double-digit growth trajectory and expected to surpass $10 billion in a few years. Rapid urbanization and the need for more efficient, smarter residential and commercial buildings means that more countries are demanding BIM technology across the board. Major software developers as well as start-up companies are delivering innovative solutions in order to take advantage of this growing industry.
Key players and mid- to small-sized companies are delivering innovation.
Autodesk, Dassault Systemes, Nemetschek, and Hexagon were all represented at BIM World. Hexagon, a company that has focused on acquiring companies in order to expand its product offering, showed Leica and Bricsys solutions in order to demonstrate data acquisition, data management, and data visualization for construction project management.
New-comers to France were also present. ZWSOFT displayed their AutoCAD alternative ZWCAD as well as their 3D solution ZW3D. Both products are valuable, accessible tools for designers in construction. They offer trial versions and sell affordable, perpetual licenses which can be attractive for many clients.
A Digital Twin Expert Panel at BIM World
Sofistik, German experts in structural analysis, greeted visitors with their recently installed team of specialists. Sofistik solutions are well-known for simulation and analysis, and their products support Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD users. As you might expect, a trial version is available.
Artificial intelligence provides benefits to every industry and the BIM market is no different. Buildrz is a French startup which promises to turbo-charge projects. Among other features, the Buildrz platform uses artificial intelligence to rapidly create building models to use in project verification and the required approvals.
