Mobile or desktop, Asus is building some of the most power workstations on the market.

It is hard to find a 4x GPU workstation or a 15” mobile workstation with a Quadro RTX 5000. Asus has both at IBC 2019.

Building on experience

The Asus E900 is very expandible with 4 double-wide Quadro GPUs & dual Xeon processors

Asus is not the first name that comes to mind when I hear the word workstation, but the specs on the Asus mobile and desktop workstations can grab attention.

The desktop, or more likely, the deskside E900 workstation is big. And that size lets it pack in redundant 2000W power supplies, four Quadro RTX 8000 GPUs, two Xeon Scalable processors, eight storage bays, and 1.5 TB of RAM.

Taken together, that is more than most of us need. On the other hand, you won’t have many computing limits with Davinci Resolve!  Joking aside, everyone has a point where a workstation can hit its limit. None of us want a productivity drop. If that applies to you, then a workstation like this can be a great machine that you can tailor to your workflow.

Asus is well known for their notebook PCs. The company has not had a strong presence in mobile workstations previously.

The 15-inch StudioBook mobile workstation sports a Quadro RTX 5000 GPU.

That could change. It’s not every day that you will come across a 15-inch mobile workstation with Quadro RTX 5000 graphics. And the slim design of the company’s StudioBook makes that accomplishment even more surprising.

It can handle 128 GB of RAM and 6 TB of SSD storage. Added to that, the StudioBook delivers a set of good connectivity options. All-in-all, a mobile workstation that is worthy of a closer look.

Asus can be found at IBC 2019 in Hall 2 Booth A38
