The HP ZBook 17 mobile workstation just arrived. It is loaded with graphics and computing power and should make quick work of any project.
A mobile workstation … and as fat as they come.
There is no sign of thin & light with the ZBook 17. There is only the feeling of schlepping around as much workstation power as you can possibly slip into your briefcase.
The massive workstation takes its place on the desk – and covers a good amount of real estate with its nearly 42x29 cm 3.2 kg footprint. The 17.3-inch display is driven by an NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 GPU and the eight-core Intel Xeon processor assures quick computing power.

Connector ports are splattered across the right and left sides and this system even came with an optical drive which I first looked at in amazement as if it were a rotary dial on a mobile phone.
A first look at performance has the ZBook 17 screaming through Viewperf 13 with nearly 380 FPS on the Siemens NX tests. And while this system has 64 GB of RAM, the ZBook 17 supports up to 128 GB of RAM to assure performance won’t break down under heavy loads.
HP designed the ZBook 17 to be expandable. If for some reason an upgrade is needed – more storage or extra memory – then you can open the back panel and upgrade the system.
Stay tuned for a full update!
