The makers of MatLab and Simulink brought their expertise to the French audience as the company expands it's MatLab Expo. Expertise from large industrial companies like Airbus and GDF as well as representatives of French universities was on display during a full agenda of keynote speeches and industry segment sessions.

 MathWorks is on the road. October 2nd found the simulation experts near the Eiffel Tower for the first edition of the MatLab Expo in France.

Simulating designs well improves the design process. With good simulation capabilities, companies can develop and test more good ideas than ever before. This lets them select more efficient and novel solutions and bring those good ideas to market faster.

MathWorks products not only provide high-end simulation of designs, they also allows companies to simulate functional models complete with control software and then build test units to provide proof-of-concept models. This is an extremely useful set of tools for many manufacturers.

Some highlights from MatLab Expo:

Loren Shure provided the MathWorks keynote presentation. She took a look at 4 trends shaping the current and future demands of simulation customers. These include:

• Algorithms in everything

• Hardware in (inexpensive) specialized form-factors

• Connected chips, devices, and systems

• People computing everywhere

In addition, there were two keynotes from customers in the morning session and 3 tracks of sessions for the afternoon including scientific calculations, model-based designs, and education and research.

Customer presentations were from the who's-who of French industry with companies such as Airbus, Bosch, GDF, and Snecma. The agenda was compact and the day was full of information for the attendees. The event was complimented by a showcase area for visitors to see a wide range of solutions first-hand.
