The leading event in industrial automation takes place every year in Nuremberg. Among the highlights to expect are solutions in digital twin solutions for existing infrastructure, IoT platforms for PLM systems, and virtual reality and augmented reality as digital manufacturing assistants.
Automation relies on converging technologies, platforms, and standards.
Engineering Automation
At SPS 2019, Aucotec AG shows how an engineering system efficiently can support plant operators on their digitization path. The software developer will demonstrate, in cooperation with the hardware expert Phoenix Contact, that any plant, no matter how old, can automatically keep its digital twin up to date on every change.
The key to this? OPC UA, refitting existing equipment with smart communications, and support in Aucotec's Engineering Base.

Internet of Things brings efficiencies
With its open low-code platform Elements for IoT, CONTACT Software provides technology and application building blocks that intelligently network virtual and real products. At the SPS 2019, the company will demonstrate that Industry 4.0 projects and other digital business models can therefore be implemented flexibly and fast.
In Hall 6, booth 130, visitors will see live demonstrations of current industrial IoT applications.
Virtual and augmented reality as digital assistants
iCAD Ltd will showcase virtual reality and augmented reality technologies as digital assistants in the manufacturing process. VR and AR are complimentary technologies that bring teams to the factory before they are built and bring information to the teams once they are in the factory. iCAD will demonstrate VR examples and highlight the company's 3D CAD expertise.
